It is by chance that I met on the Net the CEO of Carrefour Internet (A division of Francité Canada Inc.). I had already worked for him (in Canada) through the Net , and he asked me if I was able to design a Chat system for his professional site, preferably in Flash, and integrated into his platform.

” Carrefour Internet is a professional site which allows Internet users to create their own shop without hassles, in order to win discounts, to improve their business, to work at home, and to earn commissions (…) “

This structure worked for several years; this Chat project had to allow the persons who meet on “CI” to be able to communicate directly with their membership godfather; but these new members were not able to communicate among themselves. Besides, for the management of access and members, the Flash program had to be linked with their database. I was lucky as I had set up, on the previous month, the bases of a of multi-platform Chat system!
Obviously, I had to adapt a big part of my program. The system relies on a socket server in Java for the communications, and uses Flash for the display; everything was linked to “SmartFoxServerLite” for a more convenient management of the commands.

V.1.0 features :

  • management of access rights via ASP / PHP towards BDD
  • the members can create their lounge with / without password
  • the members administer their lounge, which they choose permanent, or for the session
  • system of tabs in the Chat windows
  • visual and sound announcements of the various events
